THE US SUBMARINE VETERANS of WWII; NATIONAL ARTIST

His name is Stephen Petreshock of Manitowoc, Wisconsin; however he does manage to spend the winters in Florida. His name appears in most all of the National Newsletters as, does his artwork, which is often used on the cover of the POLARIS magazines.

Steve enlisted in the Navy in May 1941 and ended up on a PBY flight crew. He volunteered for submarine duty in early 1943. He served aboard R-14, Redfin, Boarfish, RC 161 & 162, Angler and Darter during WWII. He served on 9 submarines postwar. He is active in U.S. Subvets WWII, and has served the organization as its artist for many years.

His original paintings are in many Submarine Force libraries, museums, U.S. and British Royal Navy collections, and private collections. His paintings can be found in the collections of President Eisenhower and the Secretary of the Navy.
